Elementary & Junior High
Kindergarten through 6th grade is the elementary level at ALA. Students participate in a rigorous academic curriculum while engaging in student activities and programs. While the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills are a priority in the lower grades, a full course of study including physical education, choral music, art and technology round out a child’s educational experience. ALA’s diverse student population offers an educational, social and spiritual development that would be difficult to find in other schools. With a multi-cultural student body, experienced and trained staff and suburban campus location closely situated near urban centers, ALA presents a unique opportunity in Christian education.
The Middle School at ALA consists of grades 7 and 8. The focus is on preparation for high school. Academic preparation is accomplished through consistent educational challenge while a strong expectation is placed on spiritual and social growth. Bible is part of the course load and weekly chapel services help develop application of Christian principles. Students in middle school are eligible to participate in the Good Citizenship Program, providing opportunities to serve staff and students while observing “The Law of Kindness,” ALA’s award winning school-wide program.
